چکیده
Plyometric training (PT) is a widely used method to improve muscles' ability to generate explosive power. Plyometric may improved skill performance of soccer players; however it is not clear. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of PT on skill performance in soccer players. Twenty soccer players participated in this study as the subject. The subjects were randomly assigned to PT group (n=10, age: 22.5 ± 0.5 years) or control group (n=10, age: 22.4 ± 0.5 years). The PT group performed 8 weeks lower extremities PT besides the soccer team training. The control group performed only the soccer team training during the study. The results showed that the time of sprint running test, dribbling, agility with and without ball and VO2max improve after PT (P<0.05). For accuracy of shooting no significant change was observed after 8 weeks PT. In conclusion, although the time of sprint running test, dribbling, agility with and without ball and VO2max improve after PT, these training have not effective to improve accuracy of shooting in soccer players KEYWORDS

Effects of plyometric training on soccer players
Plyometric training (PT) is a technique used to increase strength and explosiveness. It consists of physical exercises in which muscles exert maximum force at short intervals to increase dynamic performances. In such a training, muscles undergo a rapid elongation followed by an immediate shortening (stretch-shortening contraction), utilizing the elastic energy stored during the stretching phase...
متن کاملEffect of two methods of training, Small Sided Game (SSG) and resistance-plyometric, on plasma level of Interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha in youth soccer players
Introduction: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of two concurrent resistance-plyometric and small sided game methods on pro-inflammatory in youth soccer players. Methods: 30 youth soccer players with a range of 14 to 17 years of age were divided randomly in three groups, SSG (n=8), resistance-plyometric (n=11) and control (n=11). Height, weight, BMI and VO2max of the subjects were...

متن کاملEffects of Plyometric Training and Beta-Alanine Supplementation on Maximal-Intensity Exercise and Endurance in Female Soccer Players
Plyometric training and beta-alanine supplementation are common among soccer players, although its combined use had never been tested. Therefore, a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was conducted to compare the effects of a plyometric training program, with or without beta-alanine supplementation, on maximal-intensity and endurance performance in female soccer players during an...

This study aimed to analyse the short-term performance effects of three in-season low-volume strength-training programmes in college male soccer players. Fifty-seven male college soccer players (age: 20.3±1.6 years) were randomly assigned to a resistance-training group (n=12), plyometric training group (n=12), complex training group (n=12), or a control group (n=21). In the mid-season, players ...
